Antonia Wechner - Leben in Linien
Antonia Wechner is a freelance art photographer who has graduated from the College of “Fine Art Photography and MultimediaArt” at the HTBLVA Ortweinschule as well as from the Academy of Applied Photography and who currently studies “Musicology” at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz.
The artist's current photographic explorations are primarily concentrated on creating a different, visual perception. Unfamiliar impressions emerge from the photographic focus on structure and colour and are intended to enable an encounter with an altered reality. The artworks break away from the often-made claim of photography as being solely a reproduction of "reality" because the focus is being shifted from the motivic recognizability in order to create an altered, visual experience of the environment.
Her works have already been shown in numerous group exhibitions, such as at photo Graz, Designforum Steiermark, Arbeiterkammer Steiermark as well as at the gallery of the city hall.
